Here's a cute picture of Zachary all bundled up sucking his pacifier with all of those other tubes in his mouth. He actually does it quite well.

The antibiotics he's on seem to be taking care of his infection. They did another blood culture on Sunday morning and so far it is negative for staph. He still seems to be feeling ok and the doctors have been able to wean him from 47 breaths/minute on the ventilator to 28. We'll update as things continue to change.

Zach's feedings have increased to 35cc/3hrs which he is also tolerating well. He is now more than double his birth weight at 7 lbs. 6 oz! Mommy got to give him a bath today (really just a wipe down) for the first time. He didn't love it but he sure smelled nice when we were finished. :)

Sort of as a side-note he now has an inguinal hernia. It's not of major concern right now but will need to be repaired before they send him home. He has had a good couple of days. We hope to update soon with more good news.
