After the last post Zachary's condition continued to decline. His support requirements from the vent have continued to climb. When we went to see him last night he didn't look very good so the doctors decided to start antibiotics just in case and ran all kinds of tests to see if they could determine what was going on. Today we found out that Zach is now dealing with pneumonia number five and staph infection number six. Unless he responds quickly to the antibiotics his surgery will most likely be delayed at this point.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding his current condition we felt it was important to go ahead with his blessing. We had wanted to share that with all the people that had helped so much throughout Zach's life (and before) but didn't want to miss the opportunity to do it later. Not a real cheerful thought (and we hope it never comes to that) but it was a special blessing and we are glad we did it.
We appreciate all the support and our (not so) little guy can use all the prayers he can get right now as he is having a bit of a difficult time. We love you all.

Hey guys. Not the greatest of the postings to be sure. We hate to think of Zach suffering through all this sickness and surgery. He is an inspiration and we just love him and your family so much. We hope he is quickly making improvements and we can see that big grin again soon. Keep your chins up down there!!!
